Recipe of the Month August

 

Tonno alla Mediterranea 

Serves- 2

190g tuna steaks
6 black olives
8 cherry tomatoes
4 sun dried tomatoes
6 basil leaves
10g capers
2 garlic cloves
4 tbsp white wine
4 tbsp lemon juice
Salt and pepper
4 tbsp olive oil


1 To make the sauce heat the oil in a pan, add the garlic and cook till lightly browned, add the cherry tomatoes, olives, capers and sun dried tomatoes. Cook for 2-3 minutes, add the white wine, lemon juice and basil.

2 To cook the tuna, heat a griddle pan until very hot, brush with oil and add the tuna. Cook only 3 minutes each side, add the seasoning to the sauce and serve with the tuna steak.
